UPVC Replacement Door Handles
The handles on your doors wear out over time and will need to be replaced. When doing this it is crucial that the new handles match the exact dimensions of the old handle.
The top screw's location as well as the lever and keyhole sizes are the three measurements you have to determine. Refer to the size guide for help with this.
Inline Lever/Lever
A lever/lever door handle is a contemporary handle that can be put in on replacement or new doors. This type of handle is available in various styles and finishes. A number of manufacturers make this handle, including Avocet ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.
Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle
The uPVC/Composite handles are made from durable materials, and are perfect for doors with multiple points that require a robust design. The handles are inline and they use the same spindle and screws to fix them. They are easily fitted on a new or existing uPVC/Composite door.
The handle can be adjusted and angled to fit the needs of all users. The handle has been tested for endurance up to 200,000 cycles. This helps ensure that the finish is of high quality and performance over time. The sprung lever can be reduced to accommodate the widest range of locks. This is particularly useful in doors that are narrower, where the cylinder is further back in the door. A shorter lever is an ideal choice for doors where the latch could be operated by a thumb turn on the inside.
Lever Pad
The lever pad upvc handle differs from the lever handles found on most doors. These handle types are either operated by one spindle or two spindles, either inline or offset. They are typically employed on UPVC double glazed doors. They come in many variations & styles.
The handles have been tested to at least 200 000 cycles and are available in various finishes, including White Silver, Chrome, & Gold. The finish is compliant with BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, giving the handle a high level of durability and performance for the intended use.
All of the UPVC lever pad styles for handles come with a spindle and screws that allow them to be installed on an existing or new uPVC door. The backplate fixing centres of 211mm allow for a larger size handle that is often a benefit in replacing a defective or worn multi-point door lock mechanism. These handle levers are also spring-loaded, thereby solving the issue of handles that slide from their horizontal position when not in use.

When selecting a replacement UPVC handle and spindle it is crucial to match the dimensions of the PZ of the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC door. This measurement can also be called 'handle centre or cylinder centre'. It is important for matching the correct handles.
Once you have decided on the correct PZ size and the correct PZ size, you must make sure that the lever and push pads are designed to match the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles that you need for your door. These are typically round or square, with an internal lever, and an external push pad.
The majority of UPVC lever pads that we offer are sprung, which means that they will return to their horizontal position when they are not being used, instead of hanging out and possibly sticking in the frame. This keeps draughts out of the building. It is also the case that the majority of the UPVC lever pad handles are swivel that allows you to put them on either side of the door.
Euro Cylinder
Cylinder locks can be found on uPVC and other kinds of doors. They operate by using a key to unlock a cylinder that will reveal pins that can be aligned to those in the lock body and allowing them to turn the cam, thereby opening the door. Euro cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins. Internal and external doors require different levels of security.
The choice of cylinder is essential. It's dependent on the use that your doors and handles will receive. External doors, for example, should be fitted with cylinders that are more secure while internal doors can be secured with the standard cylinder. In addition, some cylinders have extra features that can improve security even more, like anti-drill or anti-bump features.
To ensure that the euro cylinder is the correct size for your door, it should be measured correctly. The cylinder should be measured from the screw hole at the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn, if there is one. It is recommended to do this while the lock is in place however, when this isn't feasible, you can take it off and remove it to measure. It is important to not have a cylindrical lock that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. their website could make it susceptible to lock snapping attacks.
Most modern cylinders are designed with bump and anti-drill features that are built into their design. They are designed to decrease the chance of attack by forcing cylinders to turn in a different direction. This can help stop the attack and protect your doors.
There are cylinders that have been designed to withstand snapping. This is a more frequent type of attack on cylinders which is where the break line of the lock is smashed by a tool that is specially designed to break the front of the cylinder and allow the door to be opened. This is a faster and easier way to gain access than using the use of a multipoint locking system. It also leaves less evidence of the break-in which could delay insurance claims.
Spring Cassette
The spring cassette is located inside the base of your door handle's backplate, supplying a spring-loaded solution and returning your multipoint lock handles to their original position after use. These handles used to have no spring and would drop when the locking mechanism was disengaged. This simple component is the most effective way to fix this problem. It also prevents your door from becoming stuck in either the open or closed position as they aren't easy to close manually.
These spring cassettes have been specifically designed to be used with sprung multipoint locks They will not work with unsprung multipoint handles and you must have a custom hole cut into your backplate to allow these to fit (please look at the image for a technical diagram). These cassettes are a solution to broken or missing cassettes in the backplate of uPVC door handles. They are fitted with a square cut out which accommodates an 8mm spindle and they are supplied individually.
These spring cassettes offer an excellent value solution to the issue of door handles that are sagging. They are easy to fit and will extend the life span of your uPVC doors.
